MESSAGE TO THE PARENTS

Welcome to the Daily Youth Devotion (DYD) experience! I believe, NOW is the right time for you to get started studying the Bible with your child!  I'd like to take this time, and share with you my experience in teaching the Word of God to my children.

When my oldest son began Kindergarten, the Lord directed me to have daily morning devotion with him, teaching the Word of God. This morning devotion was to take place each day, prior to him leaving the home.

Being obedient to the Lord, I began (by faith) teaching him. At that time, I was not an Evangelist, First Lady or a teacher, but I was obedient to the Lord and started teaching him. My obedience to God, began a family legacy.  As the years went by, I gave birth to three more children, two more sons and a daughter. Fast forward 21 years, I've employed this God-directed daily devotion, to impart the Word in the hearts of my children, starting from Kindergarteners to High School graduates! I am excited and proud how the Word of God has blessed their lives.

Today, my husband and I see how this study has built strong, faithful, confident young adults. I remember fondly the words of our baby boy as a high school senior, saying “Mom, I’m going to miss this time of learning with you each morning.”  So, I gave him one extra week. What I learned is that there is ‘power in devotion.’ That is why I have to share this with you; so you too can experience the ‘power in devotion’.  Devotion is a life changer that will have a positive impact on the whole family.

The groundwork for building a family legacy in studying was first started in Genesis with Abraham.  God provided a covenant for Abraham and his children. Abraham was charged to share the Word of God with his children and create a legacy.  And, then through Moses, God entrusted him with the 10 Commandments; and to teach them to their children, as stated in Deuteronomy 11:19 “And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sit in thine house, and when thou walk by the way, when thou lie down, and when thou rise up.”

The responsibility continues even today. It is our role to teach our children the Word of God.

But the most powerful effect of devotion has been in the lives of my children.  The daily devotions have enhanced their growth in the Word of God, thusly impacting their faith.  They have learned that when a problem arises in their lives, they must seek Godly counsel to make wise choices.  They have learned at an early age to have trust, reliance, belief in God and His Word, followed up by corresponding actions which is Faith.  Their knowledge of the Word has aided them to excel through elementary school to high school and onto college! This is not because they were super smart, but because they learned discipline and commitment through study. In addition, my husband and I never had any behavior problems from any of our children. They are living examples of a blessed life because of my obedience to God, which has paid off in huge dividends.

I'm convinced that Daily Youth Devotion (DYD) affords a easy-to-use solution that addresses many of the challenges parents face with raising children.  This is what I have found to be successful with my children…following God’s instructions, "Train up a child in the way they should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6 NKJV).  Make the decision to get started......TODAY!
